When creating the game, we split our workload into two. I am the one who is responsible to create all of the necessary designs in the game, also to search the sound effect and the music, and Alvian is the one who is responsible for the programming in Construct 2. I didn’t find it very hard to deal with the designs in the game. I just need to find some inspiration on the internet to create and modify characters for the game, but it’s a little difficult to find Indonesian characters on the internet. Alvian also helped me to find the image reference for our game character. By doing this project, I learned that creating a game is not that easy in Construct 2. I need to explore more about Construct 2 if I’m about to create another game in the future.
The name of our game is “Gatotkaca Jump” , our group’s team consists of two members, Alvian Wijaya and Davin Pratama Chandra.
How to play this game is as follows. This game is a vertical jumping game, in which the player needs to control the character to jump from one platform to another vertically. They can use cloud to get to the higher platform without jumping each of the platform. The scoring of this game is pretty simple, the player just have to collect coins as much as they can and the try to go as far as possible. There is no finish line in this game. When the character is unable to reach the next platform, it’s game over.
Players can move their character right or left by using left and right arrow key. If they want to repeat after the game over, they can press “R” and the game will automatically restart. They can mute the music or the sound effect by clicking the blue and green button at the right top of the screen.
Contributions of our team is as follows. Alvian works on the coding stuff in Construct 2. He made a lot of the layout and making sure all of the feature of the game is working. Davin made all of the art of the game. He made the character, the platform, also search all of the sound effects and the music.
